Phase IV

The Woodville Township received a DECO design grant in August 2005 in the amount of $150,000. In January 2007, DECO construction grants were reapplied for by Kane Township and Woodville Township in the amount of $350,000 each were not obtained. An application has also been made to the USDA/Rural Development in the amount of $2,900,000. In the past grant applications were submitted more than once. Ever effort will be made to try to obtain the grants in 2007.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development office recently approved a $894,000 grant and a $1,704,000 low interest loan for GCRWD. The total project amounts to $2,800,000.00. The federal and state funds will be used to expand our water system to serve an additional 153 households in Greene County. Completed construction in 2011.

We appreciate the cooperation of the future water users on this phase as well as those landowners willing to provide easements on their properties for the water main. This project could not happen without the interest and help of the communities in the area. The Greene County Rural Water District was created in 1994, to provide a safe, reliable water system to rural residents in Greene County not served by a local water distribution system.

"Greene County Rural Water District is an equal opportunity provider and employer."
